In the Nineteenth Century a group of citizens revived the Order of St John in England, drawing their inspiration from the example of the Knights of St John who, in medieval times, offered protection and shelter for pilgrims and crusaders. St John Ambulance was subsequently formed to put its humanitarian ideals into practice in the fresh industrial society, promoting the cause of first help for the ill and wounded through volunteer effort a novel concept at the time and a much required one. The work of the Order of St John is carried out in many countries around the world. Founded in 2001, the Society grew from an former informal Priory History Group’ that began meeting in 199.
St John Volunteers yield first help services, deliver community services, hoist funds and run the St John youth programs. Schools can now choose to have a session per K2 class rather than having larger year glossy groups. Students will take a certificate of attendance. (about 8 hours worth of work) When this is completed, a nationally accredited St John trainer runs a packed day session at your school where key concepts are revised and hand son skills are demonstrated and practiced. Emergency Beginning Assist (Nationally Accredited) This course has less content than Apply Beginning Help and there is no requirement for recourse work, although manuals can be provided for teachers to prepare the students beforehand. In addition to the many projects St John Ambulance ACT delivers, St John trains in excess of 12,00 school children each year in basic first help at no cost to either the child or the school. Provide Beginning Help Assessment Only Refresher learning precoursework and 4 hours facetoface assessment for experienced beginning adders and health protection professionals with existing first help skills only. Yield an emergency first help response in an education and protection setting (HLTAID004) is a course specifically designed to face the needs of people occupied in the childcare and hasty childhood learning industry. Our advanced courses donate you a chance to receive first aid to the next glossy and earnings in depth and extensive life saving skills. These courses bear a certificate of attendance and unless specifically requested do not include an assessment.
