Quality comprehensive patient focused care. There are six gastroenterologists and one general surgeon who make up our practice. Responding to patient needs and the concerns of their lo. Gastroenterology and general surgery specialists deal with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract anywhere from the esophagus to the anus. Sometimes it is necessary for there to be more than one specialist involved. Our doctors bear comprehensive care in gastroenterology and hematology. In addition to general gastroenterology and hematology gastrotrACT doctors produce subspecialised concern in variety of digestive tract diseases and endoscopy procedures. A range of specialist services are provided by our doctors including ERCP, esophageal motility, trivial bowel video capsule endoscopy, management of liver disease and nutritional advice and management. Most of our doctors have appointments at the nearby Canberra Hospital, which is one of Australia’ s largest and maximum prestigious hospitals, being the principal teaching hospital of the Australian National University medical school. All our specialists graduated from Australian, New Zealand and British medical schools and trained in gastroenterology at some of Australia’s leading teaching hospitals. There are routine audits of clinical practice and feedback concerning our service is warmly welcomed. He was awarded his fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians in 2007. He practices all aspects of gastroenterology but has a specific interest in quality improvement in screening colonoscopy and trivial bowel video capsule endoscopy. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1990. He then undertook his advanced training in inner medicine in Wellington Hospital earlier sub specialist training in gastroenterology and hematology in Dunedin, Auckland (NZ liver transplant unit) and Canberra Hospitals. This culminated in attaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physician in 2001. He became a member of the American Gastroenterology Association in 2006. He accepted an appointment as a HMO gastroenterologist at The Canberra Hospital in 2002 and entered private practice with GastrotrACT also in 2002. Dr Corbett’s other interests are colorectal cancer screening, endoscopy sedation, quality in endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease and liver diseases. He was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2010. His main research focus remains colorectal cancer screening, and familial bowel cancer syndromes. Her MD thesis investigated the effect of fiber components on bile acids and cholesterol. Her main clinical interests include the assessment and management of Barrett’s esophagus and inflammatory bowel disease. Her clinical interests in gastroenterology include coeliac disease, as well as digestive tract cancers especially in the prevention, screening and management of cancers that arise in the large bowel and liver. She has a particular interest in the management of inflammatory bowel diseases and colorectal cancer screening.
