We have grown to be a Preschool to Year 10 schools with over 1400 students. The design of the school aims to produce a contemporary environment that reflects a 21 century learning experience for our students and community. The school design provides flexible, modern, high quality and environmentally sustainable educational facilities that support the learning of the surrounding growing community. The school has a Junior School catering for students from Preschool to Year 4. Our curriculum engages learners in meaningful, difficult and reflective experiences that inspire all to attain their potential and empowers students to be valued members of the wider community. The parent community is involved in a number of programs including classroom programs, canteen, fund raising, library, school fair, sporting teams and excursion support. Students have opportunities to represent the school in a range of sports, cultural and academic activities. The Harrison School Board has elected parent representatives and leads the task of policy development and setting the strategic direction for the school. However, we have a structure that allows for the management and organization of the large student numbers that will be enrolled at our school to ensure all are feeling engaged in the school community. The school has two student engagement officers to urge classroom teachers in developing and implementing quality learning programs. This Essential Learning Achievement focuses on the imperative role physical activity plays in the lives of all students by providing opportunities for personal growth, enjoyment and challenge. This Essential Learning Achievement is about accepting and valuing one's personal identity and development and the need for positive relationships. The student designs, makes and appraises using technology. Play is thinking time for young children. This takes into account that in each class there may be students with a range of earlier achievement (below, at and above the year slick expectations) and that teachers plan to build on vogue learning. Parents are very welcome to see their child's teacher at any time. The Harrison School Board provides an opportunity for parents, teachers and students to participate in a formal mechanism for decision making at the school level.
