Established in 1993, The Tea center has since remained dedicated to offering the superior quality teas sourced from the choice tea gardens the world over. From our beginnings as a little tea deposit in Paddington, Sydney we have remained Australian owned and operated as we have grown to twelve stores across the east coast of Australia as well as a popular online store. As one of the first specialist retailers in Australia to reinvigorate the trend towards the tea leaf this has been an ongoing work of love by owners Joakim and Kerry Torstensson and Sharon hansom. Their passion for tea and everything associated with the culture and artistry of brewing the accurate cup has meant their personal involvement every step of the way. From developing accessible relationships with trivial farmer cooperatives to conceiving new blends, Joakim, Kerry, and Sharon have shrived to make their enjoyment of tea a shared experience with tea lovers everywhere. They receive huge delight in finding that perfect tea for every individual with sometimes even considerable favorites being discovered along the way. Whether it is a classic, a blend, a single estate, or a herbal ti sane, there is a brew that is bound to appeal to every enthusiast and would be enthusiast alike. Teas are packaged as they are purchased ensuring they continue new and flavorsome. Our leaves stem from upstanding tea growing regions across Asia, Africa, and even Australia. Imported teas are quality tested against the uppermost European standards ensuring least residue levels. Quite uniquely, our teas are then air freighted into Australia every 68 weeks, setting us apart from maximum tea retailers whose product may sit at sea for months during shipping. Where possible, we have also endeavored to stock a selection of organic and scrupulous teas.
